Incorporating Young Adults Academy

These groups provide a service for adults living with severe disabilities. These disabilities include Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Angelman Syndrome. The individuals participating in these groups require one-on-one facilitation for all activities of daily living. The programmes for these groups include basic stimulation of core skills and participation in self care-, cooking- and basic work activities. Music is used to enrich the programme and to facilitate participation. These groups go on regular outings as part of community integration facilitation. During participation in work skills students learn to sort, cut, shred paper, squeeze lemons and crush cans. Participation in activities of daily living including baking cup cakes, cooking minute noodles, making milk shakes and growing vegetables in the garden.
